Mahimagadi-Joranda Dhuni Mandira, Dhenkanal

Joranda Gadi "Dhuni Mandir". It is one of the most important temples of the Gadi. There is a "dhuni" means Ankhanda Jyoti (Diya) inside it and the dhuni burnt for 24 hours everyday. That is called Dhuni Mandir.




Joranda Gadhi is a temple which dedicated to the supreme lord 'Mahima Dharma'. Those peoples are living here they are saying that this is "samadhi of Mahima Goswami" or "Samadhi peetha" who spread the Mahima Dharma.




The temple was built in the early 20th century, but the shrine started from 14th century. Mahima Dharma is a religion in the tradition of Indian religions, they are similar to those panchashakha, Buddhism, Tantra and Jainism. They respect all gods.Special this temple is dedicated to the supreme lord Sunya Brahma, the shapeless lord. No image worship is done inside. 

Every year Maagha mela attracts many devotees to this place Joranda. It gives spiritual concentration to all the visitors and devotees. The devotees always chanting "Jai Mahima Alekh".




The Puja in this place is most famous as Joranda Mela,This puja occurs in the month of February Magha Purnima day. The other sacred temples are the 'Sunya Mandira', 'Dhuni Mandira' and 'Gadhi Mandira'. Pilgrims in large numbers pour forth to Joranda fair held on full-moon day of Magha which falls in January-February every year. From every corner people comes to this place on this special day. On this mela you get various delicious food, and home decor products and many more.

You can use rail to travel to joranda because sufficient train facilities in dhenkanal train station,Dhenkanal railway station to joranda 22km

You can use the bus in joranda,Quickly going to Dhenkanal bus stand then Dhenkanal Bus stand to joranda 24 km. You can take an cab, or Auto, or any personal vehicle. This is a beautiful place. Please visit once.
